Funky is a bit of an understatement.

That card is a prime example of how trusting in card grading alone can be ruinous.

Obviously, that is not a white border tobacco card, a T206.

OK. I'll bite. Looks better than a 1 to me. I assume back has paper loss and some folks are fine with this. What am I missing?

I don't get it either other than he calls it a "batt off shoulder" and he says to ask "questins" early.

Lettering at bottom is black not dark brown. The easiest way to tell a fake.

Appears the "funkiness" and darker print are just results of the scan quality. Judged by the seller's feedback..whether he can spell or not..don't think you'd have much to worry about. Card looks legit to me..

Maybe it's just my laptop screen, but I really can't tell what color the bottom letters are. I wouldn't mind seeing a scan of the back because what I really don't get is why this card graded a PSA 1.

The easier way to tell (on the caption) is the spacing of the letters and the font style, rather than just judging the color of the caption.

This card is authentic, its just a dark scan with the colors a bit off.

Well I may have been wrong up there...

When I looked at the eBay card I saw that orangish color in the sky, and I didn't recall that being on a real Cobb white border card. But upon looking at a real one, maybe what this seller has done is really push the color hard on his scan. The real cards don't have the rainbow effect present in the auction's scan. It could be real... dunno from what I can see.

If you want to buy that, email him for a scan that hasn't been doctored.

I could easily be wrong. Just trust my gut, it doesn't look right. Wouldn't spend Leon's money on the card. (insert smiley here)

Seller must know something might not be right with that card, for all of a sudden no paypal on that card? Weird to me. Rob

Emailed the seller earlier today asking for better quality scans but have not heard back yet. dont really understand sellers not providing a back scan on alot of the cards on ebay.

I bet that card has back damage. If you're not into backs then this could be a bargain. If it's a blank back card then I don't care too much about back damage. If the card has a back and it's damaged then I usually try to avoid the card. This card looks nice for a "1".

Not sure why this is here.

Not sure why it's a 1 either - although must be the crease plus a hammered back.

Oh - and I'm thinking no PayPal b/c the seller expects it to go high enough that he doesn't want to pay the fees. I didn't look ultra hard, but it looks like the seller deals more in smaller-dollar items.

The seller put some new scans up. It's a little more obvious why it got a 1 now... It still doesn't look too bad though.

Well it does look real... and is that a vertical crease in the middle of the front, the length of the card?? It still looks a bit photoshopped to me.

I admit at first the lettering on the front looked black instead of brown, to me, therefore I thought it might not be good. Poor scans will do that....
