Default 1909-1915 Baseball Magazine Storage

I bought a large lot of 52 original issues of Baseball Magazine dated Oct 1909 to Oct 1915 about 15 years ago at a local estate auction and have simply kept them in 8 1/2 x 11 Ultra Pro top load pages and placed in labeled notebooks...anybody that knows anything about these old magazines knows how fragile they are...I have always felt there must be a better way to store, preserve and display these...they are not the typical magazine size and thickness of magazines issued today...and their front/back covers are actually slightly larger than the pages between...I would appreciate any suggestions in storage, preservation and display...thanks guys

I don't know about display, but BCW carries bags and boards sized to fit Life Magazines that might be a better fit for storing these if they're too large for standard magazine bags/boards.

For display, I like to go this route...

These are rigid sleeves, and they keep the Magazines/Programs from bending. Someone will inevitably chime in that these are not "safe" in some way/shape/form... but I have used them for decades and have suffered no ill effects whatsoever.

In order to display the Magazine or Program, I just prop the rigid plastic sleeve up on an easel. The easels are readily available at any craft store or on eBay/Amazon. There are dozens of styles available... 3 of which are as follows...

I suppose you could use a mylar sleeve with acid-free cardboard backing to keep it rigid. That's probably what a museum conservator would suggest. But I like my way better.

Hope this helps!

Here is the larger "Life Magazine" sized rigid toploader...
