The last time I was at the house, they (wisely) had reprints tacked to the headboard.

Doesn’t exactly jive that a 10 year old in the 50’s would have cards that are close to 50 years old on their headboard.

My guess is that someone was sent out to buy some “old baseball cards” and overshot the mark.

Movie takes place in 1946. So, these are very good representation for the time period.

It actually takes place in 1940. Here is Ralphie's Little Orphan Annie decoder ring showing the year. He gets it in the mail during the movie.

I bet Ralphie’s old man gave him those T-206s. The old man probably collected them as a kid. Ralphie probably got the Playball from Pulaski’s Candy Store.

So, Ralphie was born nearly 100 years ago. Yet, his childhood didn't look that different than mine.

Wow, I always assumed it was early-mid 50’s…1940 makes the Play Ball contemporary and the idea that “dad gave him a few old T206” much more reasonable.

Apparently PSA made a set registry for the Christmas Story for anyone interested.

To me it is is the essential Christmas movie. Love watching it every year, visited the house in Cleveland with my family a few summers back. Loads of fun.

LMAO over the PSA registry, I guess there is something for everyone.
