Default Is There an App for that??

N54 World.
Santa brought this mid level Techie a wonderful iPAD this morning, and I'm synching up a pretty large music collection as I type here...

I was able to quickly browse w/Safari and save n54 as one of my favorites, but I'm wondering what cool apps may be out there? (eBay I assume) but has anything been built... like checklists, e-books, games anything like that surrounding our great hobby??

I'm jazzed about being able to lay on the couch and read this forum, another way in which I'll venture towards being a total weekend sloth...

What do you all know about the whole tablet/mobile device vein of technology? It looks like they are here to stay, so will there be a place for card collecting here too?

I'm not an app expert, but I've had my Ipad for about 6 months, and I can hardly imagine life without it anymore. My netbook, laptop and tower are hardly used anymore.

Default Is There an App for that??

I've had an iPhone for a couple of years (just got the iPhone 4 for
Christmas) and I can tell you card collecting is deffinately behind
the curve when it comes to technology, or, iPhone apps.

While there is one vintage card app in the iTunes store (you can
find it under "Vintage Baseball Cards" search). The website is
http://www.nuvologo.com/dadico/oldba...baseball2.html
The app itself lacks basic user friendly features such as navagation,
and a search field. There are a variety of high resolution photos
which are very nice to look at.

Because of the lack of apps, I've decided to get a little creative.
I've downloaded a PDF version of Scot Reader's T206 book as
well as my Philadelphia Caramel book. I've also created a folder
containing some of my favorite baseball card images.

Best of luck with your new iPad and your collecting.

Default pdf/apps/Caramel

Erik, thanks for the info...I just sent payment for your caramel book, somehow I didn't leap at this oportunity sooner but now I am excited to receive it!

plug:www.PhiladelphiaCaramel.com

I will most likely follow your lead and assemble my own gallery and links (I don't have the skill , patience or time to actually write an app)...but maybe someone out there will become inspired to do so in 2011!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

BTW...iPAD is very very addicting...sloth awaits!
