Indisputably fake, like the t206 Cobb in the thread yesterday. Cards don't get wear like that, the typeface is wrong, the colors are bad, etc.

They come to the board asking about the card and poof, it magically appers on eBay. They even spelled "portraite" the same way.

Maybe it's because its early and I'm just starting my cup of coffee...

What someone should do is win his auction, get his address and sign him up for all the junk mail in the world.

His Net54 account should be deleted, although I doubt he's used it too much, will in the future or won't just reappear under a different login.

Brian

Message sent to the ebay seller:

Two more things can be done
1) His ebay auction provides this email address to send paypal payments: checkmate@chartertn.net
Here is how to contact his ISP: http://www.charter.com/contact/contact.aspx?target=webmaster&AcceptsCookies=1 I'd say he is abusing his account and probably violating the TOS.
2) Here is the link to report paypal abuse: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_help-ext&ui_mode=answer&prior_transaction_id=0&action_code=4&answer_id=3591937&leafid=2236&_PPP=511&_PPC=8388607&_FI=Protection_Policies

update: 1) ISP notified 2) Complaint with the ifccfbi filed. Complaint number: I05092409439689

Does anyone agree or disagree with reporting "scammers" like this? Or do you let the "uneducated" fall for the scam and learn from their mistakes? My feelings won't be hurt if I'm labeled a vigalante as was the case a few days ago concerning a certain $2000 Green Cobb on Ebay slabbed by SGC that looks bogus/cracked out.

So often I just ignore these guys and their very doctored reprint cards. For some reason this one just got under my skin.

I think this guy got "uder our skin" 'cause he ran his card by this group to see if a) it would fool anyone, b) wanted to know what he needed to "fix" to get it to sell or c) is just stupid. I don't think any of the board likes feeling "used."

That said, I'd like to put out there the following question: Do members of the board believe they have a responsibility/desire/calling to be the polcemen of Ebay and take all of the "reporting" actions outlined above or is it a large group of individuals that have outstanding knowledge that is available for those that find it, ask for it or use it?

Just asking.

Did anyone else make the connection of the name Adam and Cobb red portrait? It just seemed a little strange.
