Just got this photo and am having trouble identifying the player. "1914 A's" written on back of photo.

Are you sure it's the Philadelphia A's? Looks like it could just be a player from some Town team or minor league team called the A's.?.?

I'm not 100% positive, but the hat matches the same ones the Philadelphia A's wore in that time period. Someone has emailed me and thinks it may be Elmer Myers or Jack Nabors. A quick check of the Baseball Almanac shows that both of those players started their career with the A's in 1915.

Nice catch Scott. I hadn't noticed that. That means that it could be either Myers or Nabors because they were both RH pitchers. I found a picture of Nabors, and I don't think it's him. I couldn't locate a picture of Myers.

Edited because I don't proofread.

If that notation was written a few years after the fact it could be off by a couple of years. I know my memory doesn't always work so good so the owner of the photo could easily suffer the same....oh, crap...forgot where I was going with this.

You might consider asking the Philadelphia Athletics Historical Society for help identifying this player or peruse their website for pictures that might closely match the player shown above.
