Default New Cobb/Ty Cobb card at the Philly show....the 14th copy ?

A (new to the hobby) Red Cobb with a Ty Cobb Smoking Tobacco back was at the Philly Show this weekend. It's a less than Vg example;
nevertheless, it was really nice to get a close look at this card.
Comparing it with several T206 red Cobb's, this Ty Cobb backed card has a richer color of red. And, contrary to previous reports, there is
no gloss on the front of this card.

I know this will spark the usual debate, but according to my count, this is the 14th known copy of this card. There are the original 12.....
then the one in Senator Russell's collection.....and now, this new one.

Ted - do you have any details on when/where this was found? I saw the copy at the Goodwin booth, is this the one you are posting about?

Jeff

That's the one....I talked with Bill for a while regarding this card and some of the other rare T206 backs that he had on display
in his case. My understanding regarding this Ty Cobb back is that it is from a recently discovered collection.

Also, it was interesting to find several T206's that Bill had this weekend, that are new front/back combos.....very interesting.

yeah really, Ted...what new fr/bk combos did you see...more importantly which backs? That's awesome another cobb king of the smoking world has surfaced...there must be more...and without gloss...the plot thickens. Open the floodgates...leave it in t206 and add t213-1 t215-1

Default Jim R......

Thanx for chiming in on those F/B combos. And, I'll add another important combo in Bill's collection that was heretofore unknown......

Thanks for reporting the P42 Schlei (portrait) find! It gives me hope that there's still a P42 Tinker (bat off) out there ... somewhere ... someday

Best Regards,
Craig
