http://cgi.ebay.com/GAI-8-SWEET-CAPORAL-UNOPENED-PACK-POS-T206-HONUS-WAGNER_W0QQitemZ300265050249

The pack is bogus, but how about the claim that "a 1910 unopened Drum tobacco pack recently sold at auction for many times higher than my asking price" true? See 4th line from the bottom of description. 800hitter is the seller. Is he a member here?

Edited to add: that he also claims to have opened a T206 pack and found a Walter Johnson card. Yeah, right.

edited link and put name in correct place...

No, not this guy again, ... valuable T206 baseball card!!! PAYPAL PAYMENT!!! $3.5 million!!!2009 100-YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!! card auctions on eBay!!!

And now a Public Service message;

When an exclamation point is overused, the meaning of the exclamation point, what its purpose is, gets lost. Save you exclamation points for casual writing or dialog and only when you really need it to make a point, and the power of the exclamation point in writing will not be lost.

"In fact, as most vintage baseball card collectors know, Honus Wagner cards came in the Sweet Caporal packs exclusively."

Then, you know he doesn't know what he is talking about.

One problem (among others) I have with graded T-packs is that all the important info is printed on the sides of thes packs....
and, you cannot read it.

In this case you can't read anything.

Barry,

It took you a whole ten minutes to respond to the Seinfeld reference. I'm kinda disappointed! happy.gif

BTW, as you know, my earlier quote was actually referencing your observation, which took place in an earlier episode, thereby carrying on the Seinfeldian conceptual continuity.

You know Jodi, sometimes I am actually working. happy.gif

And of course the muffin reference was from the last season of the show.

800hitter sounds familiar but perhaps I simply bid on too many auctions.

David, you can still take a tour about nothing, with the real Kramer! We did it about nine years ago and the real Kramer is a hoot.. No not that one, thissa one;

Yes, a great episode from the greatest season of the show (until the finale, of course).

That episode also features the re-emergence of Salvation Army employee Rebecca DeMornay, who uttered one of my favorite lines in her first appearance:

"You and your toilet book better get out of here before I jump across this counter and punch YOU in the brain!"

Barry--You work? What's that like?

"Pick a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life"

Well I don't actually work, but it looks good to say I do.

My favorite season is 1992-93, which I feel was their creative peak (The Contest appeared then).

LOL..."Biff"! They really sponged that comparison over a three-four episode run, then dropped it like a dead fly.

Season 8 and 9 are by far the best. Especially the last season. My all-time favorite episode is "The Serenity Now" followed by a close second, "The Merv Griffin Show". When I watch the Serenity Now, I still cry laughing when Kramer puts the wind chimes on his door. "The cool evening breeze of Anytown, USA" That's my favorite line.

Your mother was right, you never could compete with Lloyd Braun!!

edited to add...We could easily do a long thread on Seinfeld episodes...

I felt the later episodes were a bit haywire. Elaine's character changed over the years, and I like the early Elaine better. The later episodes were shrill and over the top. The early ones were paced better and more clever. But to each his own.

If the Bookman episode isn't the best, it's real close. And to be that funny to a generation that did't (and still doesn't) know either Jack Webb or Dragnet, that's genius.
