Is it better to syick with PSA & SGC with cards from the T-206 series?

I misspelled the word stick in the title....was writing to fast.

How are cards from that series viewed if graded by Bectkett (BVG)? Do they command lower prices and are they harder to sell?

people will say buy the card, not the holder. but in a vaccuum or sight unseen psa/sgc will go for more.

My opinion is if you can catch some registry guys then high grade PSA is the way to go. In our auction that just completed the BVG cards did just as good as any others. We didn't have very high grade cards, for the most part. All 3 brands are good imo......but I don't collect plastic I collect cards (not that there is anything wrong with collecting plastic, it's just a bit different).

My concern was if ever I want to sell to upgrade in the long run. I collect the card not the holder just don't want to be stuck if ever I want to sell or upgrade down the road.

If your cards are good, you won't be stuck. T206 cards are the most popular prewar cards, and there will always be a demand for them.

Personally, mine are in SGC holders, but that's because I like a uniform display. They also look great in no plastic at all, in binder pages or in a stack. When it comes time for you to re-sell, if it ever does, there will be buyers.

For pre-war and post-war cards up to 1980, I strongly prefer SGC. I feel they do a better and more consistent job with the grading and I like their cases. For 1980 to present, I prefer PSA.

PSA tends to have the highest resale value, but SGC is probably the most popular among pre-war collectors and is quickly catching up/matching PSA prices.

I don't mind buying BVG/Beckett slabbed cards as in many cases they don't cost as much. But I don't submit cards to Beckett to be graded.

And keeping them raw isn't that bad of an idea either.
