There is no Uncle Jacks Registry listing, so I guess he just felt like paying big.

Sounds like this Mckee guy has a problem with Registry folks. Perhaps he never met one in person.

but I'll buy UJ HOFers all day at $200 in that grade if you have any for sale. Not to be argumentative, but last I looked there are no UJ sets on the PSA registry, and only one on SGC (and he didn't win this). I paid more than $400 for this very Lindstrom card in SGC 40 a couple of years ago.

Ive been laughing at the prices of these for a year now. The guys buying these for these crazy prices missed the boat, 4-5 years ago they could have picked them up for $100-$200 or less.

ok, I admit it, I just hate registry folks and I was prejudice. I apologize. But I am 3 away from this set and am getting really pissed that I can't collect any more because of this grading bull ****! I obviously need to sell and move on. Or burn everything and film it.

Hey Dan,

You got me on the W. Johnson Piedmont stamp, I thought I had it all the way, but something told me you might put a late bid in. Then I tried to win the Ruth Connie Mack and guess what...Oh well, congrats. Maybe next time. Take care and I'll see you at the next Reading show.

Dan, I'm curious, if this is a $200 card why did you bid $1,498?

Steve - can't you read? The idiots pay $1500 for a $200 card - he didn't want to be an idiot, so he only bid $1498.

Dan;

You have to keep the registry "Whale's" at bay, the only way I know how buy feeding them a steady diet of Wonka brand Whale feed!

We start with the finest high numbered certification slips grind them to a pulp, simmer with old world spices then bake in a 350 degree oven for 45 mins with just a hint of brown sugar and cinnamon.

If you like this you may also want to try Wonka's "I cant believe it's not graded!" spread.

I feel your pain brutha. I collect a certain common T-206 and have recently found an ebay stalker driving up the totals on the card. No way to contact them now that ebay has made everything private. Hell I'll give them my best card just to layoff.

...I was watching that T206 also (figured that you were too) and thought that it went high. I didn't bid when I saw the price nearing the auction's end & passed....quickly.

Dan,

So I assume if you would have had that card in your personal collection for some time, and had set up at a show, say Reading, you would put a $500 price tag on it?

James

Yes James, that is exactly correct. I had a red Simmons in a PSA 7 holder for $900 at several shows so darn tootin. A Lindstrom in a 4 would be $500. NEXT QUESTION?

I posted this when it was at $1500. I was early on my blasting as usual. Probably just a true set collector that needed it to finish the set like Steve here. I am 3 away and Steve and the winner are probably just 1 away from completing this set.

Dan you are acting like a spoiled school child. You have no idea about the people
that are also bidding on the cards that you are. They too may want the card as much as you do and for whatever reason.

Interesting, the winner bids on coins and the seller's Uncle Jacks only. Very interesting. It looks like the only fool involved in this auction was me.

I agree Steve, I am a very spoiled school child who has been collecting 38 years and used to get whatever he wanted up until about 7 years ago. I can't argue with you about that. But I do appreciate having this forum to come and cry to because it makes me feel better. I appreciate you listening and feeling my pain too. thanks. Looking at the winner I would have to say that he is a coin collector that was helping a friend run up his auctions. Or quite possibly a coin collector that only collects UJ's? And yes, you are absolutely correct, he may be more passionate about collecting these than I am, I do not know him. Dan.

Dan,

I have no interest in getting into a tiff with you, and calling me a chump is out of line. You don't know me personally, but you do business with my company, and I'm shocked the way you're reacting to a loss (over a baseball card). Maybe you're a bit intoxicated, if you're not though, then wow. How can you judge who is a TRUE hobbyist and who isn't?
