For some reason, spring training sends me into a modern kick. So I've unfortunately been buying a buch of the shiny stuff lately...BUT I did manage to pick up two pre-war items recently, a '34 Diamond Matchbooks Ernie Lombardi and a b18 Ray Chapman.

Default Thanks Bob!

Just Like tbob thanked and recognized Tom A. for selling him the last C46 card that he needed for the set; I wanted to thank Bob for his generosity in return to me for selling me an E98 that I needed. He exchanged it with me in a sell/trade combination. I really appreciate it Bob! It gets me within 15!
Up until now, I had never seen a Davis with a Blue Background before with my own eyes
Thanks,
Tim

My new February pickup is not the card below (well that was a pickup this month as well, but I digress), I just installed a new all-in-one printer with CCD scanning technology vs CIS scanning technology.

Old Scanner (HP Photosmart C5180):

New Scanner (Canon PIXMA MG8120B):

WOW! What a difference!

I know it's a beater, but it's the best one I'll ever own. I called the auction house and asked if other cards from the auction were part of the 'soapbox' group and they are looking into it. Meanwhile, I smelled the inside of the box and the other five cards I won smelled like it, so I guess the question is answered.

"the card was discovered within a group that was put away during the 1930s (the original box in which all were housed is being offered with this card)."

Congrats Scott....not a bad looking "collector-conditioned" card. I like it.

The color pops on that T3 Dahlen... but is he using a 25 inch bat? That thing is smaller than a Fungo!

It is not the size of the bat but how you use it, at least that is what I tell myself.

Got my 1910 Waddell notebook cover and it looks fantastic! This is 1 of 3 known proofs to exist.
