Default topps 206 + psa?

Posted By: jeff

I just started wondering about this... I think I read once that grading companies (I might be remembering stuff on the SGC site) will grade autographed cards (as long as they were distributed as such, not autographed later), and game-used garbage cards. I also remember reading that the grade will be based partially on the condition of the card, and partially on the condition of the relic / autograph. Not sure exactly how that would work, but I'll take their word for it.

Now, then, the big question: if somebody sends in a pack-fresh 206 "original 206" card with a vg t206 inside, what's the grade? And what happens if PSA/SGC/etc. thinks the original card might be altered, or short?

You all can ponder that conundrum, while I ponder one of my own: "why do I care?!?!"
