Since I've been collecting card types I have gone through various stages of focus..lately I've hunted down some regional food issues... finally got a couple of nice examples of Briggs and Esskay cards a few months back. I really like the looks of them!

A short grocery list-
A little bread

Some cookies

Some dog food for rover

Some chips for the picnic

We'll need some hot dogs and cold cuts as well

And of course, things go better with Coke!

Thanks, Darren. The 1957 Kahn's Pirates Bill Mazeroski is another nice one to have but I haven't come across a good bargain on it yet.

The 1952 Num Num set is one of my favorites, not surprisngly because all 20 cards picture Indians. I know of only a few Bob Kennedy cards in existence and have never seen or heard of one that still has the coupon.

Damnit, I'm hungry again.

I finally picked up my first one last summer in CLE: Warren Spahn. I may add a few more; it is a great issue.

Do they still make the coffee cakes with the topping that looks like hamster food?

Doc Holliday: And you must be Ringo. Look, darling, Johnny Ringo. The deadliest pistolier since Wild Bill, they say. What do you think, darling? Should I hate him?
Kate: You don't even know him.
Doc Holliday: Yes, but there's just something about him. Something around the eyes, I don't know, reminds me of... me. No. I'm sure of it, I hate him.
Wyatt Earp: [to Ringo] He's drunk.
Doc Holliday: In vino veritas.
Johnny Ringo: Age quod agis.
Doc Holliday: Credat Judaeus apella, non ego.
Johnny Ringo: [pats his gun] Eventus stultorum magister.
Doc Holliday: [gives a Cheshire cat smile] In pace requiescat.
Tombstone Marshal Fred White: Come on boys. We don't want any trouble in here. Not in any language.
Doc Holliday: Evidently Mr. Ringo's an educated man. Now I really hate him.

Adam,
Last quote should read:

You started too soon:

These are complete boxes that are unopened with the original contents. Yum, yum! I just sold the Aaron and the Munson this month. I have the Harper listed now.

By the way - Randy, did you get my email?

That's an awesome Jackie Robinson Bond Bread card. That must be one of the rarest in the set, I have never seen it before.

In all my years of collecting Lincoln baseball memorabilia I'd never seen or heard of these until just this week. Weavers was a local potato chip company (RIP as of 2 months ago). There are what appears to be staple holes in the cards so I'm guessing they were stapled to the outside of a bag of potato chips. I talked to a few old-timers here in town about them this week and they don't remember these cards.

As a collector of regional minor league stuff these are great. Have never seen one. Do you have a guess as to the year of issue ?

Thanks.

They are either 1953 or 54...those are the only years Neill and Wright played for the Chiefs. I think they are probably 1953 - first year for the Lincoln Chiefs and there may have been enough excitement about that to make a baseball card set.
