Default Babe Ruth Cut Auto

Alright sleuths, what photo did Topps destroy to make their cut auto card? Pretty sad they couldn't just offer this as a Redemption rather than destroy it. 20231027_145502.jpg

Tim, the following isn't mine but when I saw it, I wanted to puke. Why the hell would anyone cut a document to fit the signature into a holder?

Sadly. It is the new way to create 1 of 1 to drive modern collectors to vintage items.

And they now to scraps of bats, uniforms etc , go make special cards to and people seem to like it.

Personally it is not for me

You ever see one of those movies where some chef is going to cook an endangered species but in the end, the chef serves chicken?

Why don't these knuckleheads donate the real uniform (let's say a Gehrig) to a museum or the HOF and cut up another uniform because who is going to know that a swatch of cloth is actually from a specific uniform? Yes, it would be smart of the card company to find the correct colors and make sure there are no synthetic materials in the swatch that the actual uniform predates.

Ok, going forward, I'm going to choose to believe the swatches and bat pieces are not real, however you can't fake the cut document. Wouldn't it be funny if the signature was from a faked document? It's Friday, it's getting close to happy hour, perhaps I need to start early today.

Their cut job bothers my OCD about symmetry. They could have cut that much better.

I am not a fan of cutting up all the items they do. The checks or documents don't bother me as much as photos. This Babe Ruth photo could have even been cut much larger, like the size of an exhibit, and then inserted as a box topper. How cool would that be to have an auto, plus a beautiful photo of the man himself! On this stupid 1-of-1, his picture is the size of my thumbnail.

I personally don't see what the problem is. Doesn't everyone love portrait photos that cut off the subject's face between the eyebrows and the eyes?

Beautifully composed card by Topps.
