Default e95/e96 Handcut/blankbacked cards....

A few years back, I assembed this group of 10 e95/e96 handcut/notebook/blank backed cards before eventually selling them to a board member. I was pleased to find this group still intact in this auction and will be welcoming a few old friends (well, 10 of them) back home. Kind of neat cards at a nice price too!

Default Loser

Well, I lost all the lots I bid on. I didn't want to bid higher of the D322 near set, since I had no recent auctions to compare a final price to. Looking back at it, I think the winning bidder got a good deal.

I also lost on the SGC 50 CJ Cobb & E103 Wagner. I'm kind of stunned by the final price on the Ruth rookie PSA 4.5. I was thinking around $55K, but $75K!! Wow

Default fell asleep

I fell asleep but might have raised the unknown Ruth strip? card an increment if I hadn't. Sort of happy I fell asleep but would have liked the card.

I had to go out and as a result lost all lots I was bidding on...just got one-upped on most...being the underbidder sucks.

Cheers,
Blair

Here's something I really wanted, but finally had to give up on. It has Pepitone's autograph from the year that he played mostly with the Cubs - he was only with the astros for that one partial summer:

I was bidding on the Tip Top and had the same problem but if I knew what sets would go for on day 2...I would have bid higher on the Tip Top.

I too was unable to bid on any of the cards I was interested in because VCP didn't have enough data to tell me what to bid.

I'm not sure that I want to claim status as a Legendary loser but I didn't win anything in their auction.

ha-ha...now THAT'S funny!

I'm always too busy catching falling knives to find the phone during these things

...I'm no basketball card collector but I did sleep on the couch last night.

and who can resist a gnarly old grey hair on a scan trying to distract bidders from blatant over-grading nepotism?

Default t206s

I won a bunch of t206s, mostly PSA 4-5...will probably end up selling a bunch so if anyone has some cards they are interested in we can likely work something out.

I picked up the Mayo Russie. While I was busy being stunned by that win, I lost the Ewing

Did anyone on the board win the Kalamazoo cabinet with the catcher action pose? Probably my favorite item in that night's auction.

I'm still waiting to put in some more bids, not yet having received the auction catalog (which have in the past routinely arrived in Canada two weeks or so after the auction ended). Not sure whether that makes me a winner or loser

Max, when it comes to Mastro/Legendary, all bidders are losers. Doug and Bill are winners. At least for now. Tick, tock.
