Default Cobb in photo?

I've had this photo for a while. When I got it I put it away, not giving much thought to the scene other than the play at the plate. But looking again, it appears to be Cobb standing off the plate---right? I haven't looked up the box score of the game etc to see how he came to be there as Vitt was trying to score, but the profile, ear, and posture all seem to be right.

Anyone want to yea or nay?

Cobb had already batted and Jim Delahanty and Del Gainer were the next 2 batters.

I'd bet a lot that it's Hughie Jennings. He coached third and probably ran over. Sure looks like him - the longish hair in the back stands out to me. Seems like Cobb's hair was always very short.

I doubt that's Jennings, he would have had to have run down the third base line with Vitt and gotten there in time to stop and watch the play. I believe it is whoever was up to bat when the attempted steal happened, either Delahanty or Gainer.

Thanks for the responses. Probably right that it is Delahanty or Gainer, but I don't know their faces in profile well enough to conclude that it's either. Still---anytime I casually glance at the photo, Cobb is the first thing to come to mind.
