Default Strip Card Expert Needed

Posted By: James Gallo

Hi Guys

I just rediscoverd a group of strip cards I bought years ago.

Most are the W520, but there are a couple odd ones I am not sure about.

One is Benny Kauf #31
Other is Wally Pipp

both are color.

I also am interested in the approximate value and if there are any tough card in the 520 set as I have 75% of it

Also would SGC be bothered if a card was trimmed to the lines today. ie I have a couple card that were cut wide and not well. If I cleaned up the cut could they detect that and would they card.

Please help as I have limited strip card knowledge.

Thanks

James Gallo

James, might you have a scan of the cards? That would help.

Frank.

Not sure what your cards look like but Kauff is #31 in the W522 set. The W522 are nearly identical to W520's with different #'s (between 31-50)

I will get some scans later today.

Old cardboard has the W522 set as having 20 cards which is why I was confused. I guess it has more then 20 then and only the first 20 are the same as the W520 then?

Yes W522 has 20 cards #31-50

Like Rhett said, Your Kauf (Kauff) if its #31 is a W522

James, I have added full galleries and cross-checklists for both the W520 and W522 sets to the Old Cardboard website.

As you can see, the first subseries of 10 W522 cards are player portraits while the second subseries of 10 cards are full body poses. The same is true for the W520 set except that the cards are re-numbered and the sequence is reversed within each 10-card subseries. It is a little confusing but the cross-checklists seem to help me clarify the differences between the two sets.

Hope this helps.

Lyman
