Sean... you're computer savvy, Google "shill bid" and see what you get.

I think eBay will never collect their fees on this one.

What are the fees for starting a card at 3 mil? Not that ebay will ever see them.

Insertion fees max out at $4.00

Final value fees as follows so basically 1.5% of $3M:

8.75% of the initial $25.00 ($2.19), plus 3.50% of the initial $25.01 - $1,000.00 ($34.12), plus 1.50% of the remaining closing value balance ($1000.01 - closing value)

edited for spelling

Yeah, about $4.00 tops. What Ebay should do is let the auction run its course, charge the seller the final value fees of about $45K, and then max out the seller's credit card.

Ebay should have some sort of red flag pop up when a 0 feedback seller tries to start something at 3 mil.

Does anyone know if this T206 which sold for 3,000,000 is a real card or one of those counterfeit cards.

No one has to seriously worry that someone's going to pay $3 million for that card. To start, I doubt someone who would bid $3 million in this auction has the $3 million to pay.

This card violates eBay policy that a T206 Honus Wagner has to be graded to sell on eBay as an original, so clearly they are going to cancel the auction. It just takes a little time. Watch and see.
