Default OT- a great play

I will use one of my OT's for this puppy. As a pitcher and baseball player it's hard to imagine a better play. Simply awesome. This was posted in our watercooler talk section but it truly deserves a front page spot. regards

Yeah I saw that live on TV and said, wow the play of the year already on the first day. It's going to be tough to top that one!

Ozzie Smith's dive and play on the bad hop has always been my favorite defensive play (with everything Brooks Robinson ever did a close second). But every time I watch the Buehrle play, the more impressed I am. Konerko bare handing it and holding the pose somehow makes it jut that much better.

I saw it earlier today on the watercooler side and I have to say it might be the best, as well as the most unique play I've ever seen. It could never happen again.

Definitely one of the best plays I have ever seen. I'm not sure that I'm quite ready to rank it ahead of Ozzie Smith's great play with San Diego. He barehands the ball after it takes a bad hop and he already is in his dive. Unbelievable. Too bad the video isn't clearer. If anyone can find a clearer video of this play, please post. Thanks.

Kary

Hey, that's the ozzie play I was referring to in post #3! For those of you who watch the video, it is the first play they show in the video after his opening round off back flip....

EDIT: And, yes, it seems like every video of that play I've seen of that play is grainy.

I could chase a grounder, & fall down like that. No problem.

Most people don't know that that actually happened Ozzie's rookie year as well....amazing.

Jeff Boroughs (the guy thrown out) was never a speedster but sure looks fast in that clip!

Amazingly, a college pitcher from Vanderbilt this week made nearly as good a play as Buerhle did. A batter smacked a hard shot off his knee, but he still managed to flip the ball to first for the out, even though it was obvious he was in great pain. Moments later they carried him off with a busted kneecap ...

While not real, and not really too on topic, this is pretty impressive

That play was AMAZING. He was hurt but still focused enouh to make the play! By far not a professional mangaer, or even a fantasy one, but that is the kind of player I would like to be teammates with.
