Outstanding Zeenut!! Tough act to follow.

Mastro delivered today. Won the partial set of T209-1's. Rest of cards can be seen here: http://tinyurl.com/a3vwtv pw = aloha. Also, won this Breisch Williams Pickering, first BW in my collection.

And . . a grab bag from eBay:

Been looking for this card for a while. Lost out a couple of times and had to settle for this less-than-stellar example. Hopefully I will be able to upgrade a few notches someday.

Holy Moses! Vintage cards, scantily-clad Polynesian maidens, plenty penguins, authentic Dutch people and more.

Pretty excited about this one...haven't gotten it in yet, but should be here today or tomorrow. It is my 10th different back, and since I realistically won't shell out the money for a Drum, Uzit or Lenox, it really only leaves me with American Beauty and Broadleaf backs to acquire. Thanks Steve!

Bob-
I noticed your bids and was ecstatic when it was over, although I found myself wondering if you hadn't shown up to the party, would I have won the card for a buck? Regardless, my max bid was waaaaaay high- I've been in desperate need of that card for a long time. I owe you a steak or a Bentley or something...

Sean, congrats on the OJs, a HOFer to boot. I'm a little surprised one or both didn't get a number grade (PSA1 / SGC10). They are really rough but don't appear to be altered (trimmed, re-backed, etc.)

Well Done.

Best Regards,
Joe Gonsowski

I have eric to thank for the Hanlon. I think it was originally in an SGC slab with a 10. Seeing as I can only afford authentics anyways, its probably better this way happy.gif Whats even betetr is that it was one of the top 5 hofers in the set i woulda wanted as Im a big 1890's Orioles fan happy.gif

I picked up my first card of the year on eBay tonight. A Chief Meyers D304. I was shocked it went so cheaply.

Was it the grade or should I be concerned since I know this set was been reproduced. I certainly would welcome any feedback from those familar with the D304 set. Here's the link to the auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&it em=250354029164

Thanks in advance,

Patrick

No need to worry about the D304. It's the real deal, they've just fallen back to earth with prices. Nice pickup.

Peter and Robert,

Thanks for the feedback. It is greatly appreciated. I'm looking forward to receiving my CHief Meyers D304. It's been a real long time since I have added anything to my Chief Meyers' type collection.

Picked up this nice group of Famous & Barr's. Some interesting aspects of this group is that the Ainsmith & Vaughn are scarce M101-4 Famous & Barr's, while most F&B's are M101-5's. Notice the top to bottom add back on the Ainsmith and the extra Border line on the Hartzell

Great progress getting to 259. I am sure you reailize this but one more and you hit the halfway mark... then it is all down hill. I of course am not counting the big 4 as the average guy isn't going to get those unless his grampa has an attic full of vintage cards.

I have been stuck on 118 for about 2 weeks, just haven't had time to peruse the BST.
