Default Misprints

So I was browsing through ebay and I saw this. It says it's a misprint and overprint. So what does misprint and overpoint mean in this situation.

Thanks
Matthew

Matthew , I owned this card for a couple days and decided to return it to the eBay seller because I thought I had paid a little too much for it. I had posted the card here as you have done and was told by more than one person it had been trimmed. I asked the seller about it and he showed me the return letter from psa saying it was a miscut card. Still not sure why PSA wouldn't have graded it if was a miscut? It was a beautiful card and I would have kept it with a little discount but the seller thought he should refund money and try eBay again with the miscut disclaimer attached.
Others can chime in but I think if you can get it at a fair price it's a decent card to add to your collection.

I'm pretty new at this too so I'm not sure of a fair price... I personally didn't want to pay any more than $15 or so after I learned a little more about the card.

I was wondering if it looks trimmed because the top looks a little choppy. Then I was thinking perhaps just a diamond cut because the bottom is a little crooked too. I would stay away from it unless the price was a steal. I am paranoid about trimmed cards. No more than $20?
.
I didn't know the OP meant miscut. Miscut and trimmed are not the same. I thought he was asking about misprint/overprint.

The top right corner looks to me like it has been trimmed. Too bad, it looks like a nice card otherwise.

Questions for both. Would they grade this card and put an Authentic if its trimmed ?

Yes, but it would be a losing proposition.

PSA would give it an "Authentic" for a grade, but you have to request that they do so. And it doesn't make sense to spend money to get such a low value card graded.

Card is trimmed for sure...but the corners are sharp and it has nice eye appeal. Even if a card is trimmed but looks nice, it might be something to consider.

Yeah then its not worth it. Might just pick it up if it sells for less than 10 dlvd

Default def....

trimmed

...look at the "dog ear" on the upper right hand corner....it is also miscut....no "errors" on this card( I think description was prob talking about the overprint bar on back)...

anyway, a card like this , to me, is a great example to be gotten "cheap" just to "have " an example....depends on your focus.....I don't mind trimmed or beat up cards at all, because I have grown accustomed to them on scraps and rarities in T206 I collect....in scraps and freaks, it almost gives them more"character" from a well loved card....

If your an investor/collector, them trimmed cards might not be up your alley(unless printers scraps since they are all hand trimmed)

Interesting that the card just sold for $44 when a few weeks ago it sold for $27. I imagine we'll see it again in a few weeks, either graded fairly high by a TPG or listed raw.
