Default Is there an interest?

Hey ya'll,

Someone recently mentioned that they wouldn't mind buying a T-Shirt if we had some made up for Net54baseball. IS there an interest there? I am sure they would look nice with the blue logo. I like fairly thick 100% cotton, short sleeved. I could imagine nice ones being around $15-$18 delivered.....Would anyone want one to wear to shows or whatever??

On a different, but similar note, the person who made us those nice little Net54baseball pins last time might make us some more for this national. I think I gave every single one out last time at the National, with only a couple left over. It's not a big deal but they are neat.....So, hopefully that will get done and I will have them at the National if they do. regards

I like the tshirt idea, as long as it's not anything like the horrible National shirts.

Yikes, not sure what they did at the National? Otherwise, that is why I quoted a bit of a high price, because the thinner and cheesier the T-shirt the sooner they are likely to become garage rags. As anyone that has ever seen me at the National I am a big fan of the T-shirt and shorts dress code.

That's exactly what the National tshirts were: thin and cheesy and bright lava red!

Red? In that case, making them thin wasn't a bad idea. It's a rag when you bought it.

I think you really should do it. Easy way to promote net54 while generating some revenue.

At most it would be about a buck or two in the revenue dept....that isn't the thought. Our very nice and appreciated advertisers are the only revenue from this site. I guess it would be advertising but I just think wearing them could sort of be neat as we would "know" each other at shows and such....I know many folks have commented on the pin when I have worn it.

This is my thought too with maybe the logo on the chest like that and maybe, depending on pricing (I want to keep them affordable) another larger one on back and a smaller one on the right sleeve.....I think that would look very nice....

and this T-shirt thing would be ongoing, I am sure I couldn't get it done in time for this National, if I do it...

I was always a fan of the baseball undershirts with the 3/4 length sleeves. Logo or writing on the front, website in smaller(yet readable) letters printed right below the neckline on the back. This is how I did the shirts when I had my band. They looked good, and the smaller letters on the back catches people's eye and makes them unconsciously take a closer look to see what it says. That unconscious effort, will assist in the website sticking in people's heads..Simple psychology.

Ball caps would be awesome too(preferably stitched)..I'm sure somebody on here could work up a nice logo, and then have the website printed/stitched on the back or along the side. Knit winter hats would be cool too.

Hats might work better and cheaper than shirts. Since you can wear a hat day after day if you're working a show, without people thinking "hey, that dirty m*therf**ker's wearing the same shirt he did yesterday."

Surely someone on the board is a graphic artist or otherwise skilled in this kind of stuff. I'd love to grab a Net54 shirt if available, but like others, want it to be classy!

As for the pin, something retro that plays off of some of the old school pins that many on here collect would be cool...

Great idea regardless...

Yes but at what price point? I am sure each additional item is incremental cost....I do agree that a cool card would look neat....

Hey Scott, good to see you around....That would be a cool card to have on it.....I want one that is fairly recognizable but not the T206 Wags...as it's a bit over done.....Hope you are well and don't be a stranger...

I guess I wasn't part of the ribbon joke? And as stated the pins might be ready if they get done but the shirts won't be regardless....

Great Idea Leon. I don't think adding a card would cost too much, we've added stiched logos to our company shirts at a cost of $5.00 each. I can't imagine a silk screen image of a card would be too much more. It would most likely not be too difficult to offer say three different card choices. I'll suggest with any Cobb, Matty and of course the classic 1977 Topps Sanguillen

Never heard that quote - is the rear gunner the one who never hits anything?

I was talking to a guy this morning with a heavy Minnesota accent, and it reminded me of this forum so thought I'd check in. I wouldn't be a stranger, except I still don't have money to buy cards. Been saving up now for 7 years and can almost afford a Goudey common.

Zazzle allows you to upload images for shirt designs and assign a "royalty" fee to them. This way you don't have to maintain any kind of inventory (they "print on demand") or ship yourself, plus buyers have nearly unlimited options as far as colors/styles/etc.:

Big t-shirt junkie here (of the kind you can't buy in stores).
A baseball style tee shirt with a large net54 logo on the back and small one on front (like pocket logo placement).
I'm sure whatever you guys come up with will be taseful, so I'm down.

Too bad we couldn't get ebay user names/Net 54 names under the actual name on the badges/pins/nametags, I would recognize a lot of guys from their ids rather than actual names. Just my 2 cents...

What iconic card(s) would we use? T206 Wagner is tired.

Suggestions: Lajoie Goudey, Ty Cobb Cracker Jack, Plank T206, 1989 Fleer Billy Ripken, Babe Ruth Baltimore Newspaper, Ty Cobb T3 or T206, 1963 Topps Wally Moon, Christy Mathewson T205 or T206

Leon - What you should do is get a bunch of solid color shirts (any color you want) & then have a decal vendor there setup (person & machine) at the Net54 dinner where you can have them sew, heat transfer, etc,... (however they do it) the net54 id to the solid blank shirt during the evening. So at the end of the evening, the net54 member gets their shirt with their user-id on the shirt. The front of the shirt = net54 user id and the back of the shirt would just have the net54 logo.

Edited to add the

Perfect Alan. You go ahead and do all of that and let me know as soon as you have it covered, ok? I will supply a table for you at the Dinner.

Leon, I would take a shirt as well. Do to my wife's cooking I'm in a XXL now. I hope you don't cut off at Large/XL like a lot of places do, due to the cost. I would gladly pay a few bucks more so I don't look like The Simpsons Comic Book Guy in a Large.... LOL

if we do these then I can't imagine an extra charge for xxl.....I like big T's and I wear that size too....we'll see where this goes. I will most likely do it but it will be after the National. Too much stuff going on now. Hopefully I will be able to get some pins to give out at the National too...as I did before. They should be free to members....

Ok.. there is enough interest and the T-Shirt thing will happen but it will be after the National.....I will also solicit some more feedback on the design of them.....My immediate thoughts are a small logo on the chest, a logo on the right sleeve and a larger logo on back. We might do a card to but that is undecided right now. Thanks for the feedback guys....

Just try to make sure the neck isn't too thick. Us short guys look funny with T's that have that fat neck band thingy.

I would be down for one to wear around town. My "Thank You Come Again" shirt is getting a little ragged, but not nearly as bad as my Twister "Let's Get Naughty" shirt!

Good thinkin,
Bob

I think we can do those with a cost to us of about $25 each

Rich
I want these to be very affordable and nice at the same time. I am looking at heavy 100% cotton, short sleeved.....Zazzle looks a little expensive on the surface but I have to get quotes from other local companies to compare. My guess is I will get them made locally and allow folks to just order from me and I will ship them. I think $25 is a bit high..... I don't mind more suggestions at all but I do have some thoughts in mind as previously stated.....I do want them to look nice but be cost effective too....I am a big t-shirt fan .

So far it appears one size (XXL) fits all.

Does not sound like good news for Heritage who is picking up the tab for the Net54 dinner.

Unfortunately they were smart and are "capped" at a certain, very generous number. The rest of it is on the millions I am making from the board...

Collectors aren't really known to be the most fit group....

LOL.

Yeah well I would love to come to the dinner but one bite might be more sodium and fat than I take in during one week.

I was thinking a washed-out look with the logos also having a "worn" look to them, to go along with the vintage nature of the board (not to mention many from the ranks). But I'm donw for a couple no matter what the final design turns out to be.
