Default Video of the Baltimore National

Most all on Net54 have already received the August issued (Issue #76) of the Old Cardboard eNewsletter that was distributed yesterday afternoon. If not, you may be interested in viewing the eNews and the video that it contains, which highlights last weeks National Sports Collectors Convention in Baltimore.

The video includes interviews with more than 70 vintage card and memorabilia collectors. Many of these are also members on this forum.

The video (which is recorded in High Definition and can be viewed in full screen mode on your monitor) can be accessed on the Vimeo website at
.

The eNewsletter, which identifies all 70 attendees in the video, can be accessed at http://www.oldcardboard.com/eNews/20...76/eNews76.htm.

To obtain a free subscription for the monthly eNewsletter, you can sign up at http://www.oldcardboard.com/e-newsletter.asp.

We hope that you enjoy the video of the 2010 National.

Default great video

That was a great video Lyman and Brett. Except for me looking like a spastic everyone looked like I remembered them.

And as a shameless plug for Brett. Brett does a great job doing videos at weddings, Bar Mitzvahs, divorces , etc......He does it as a side business and as ya'll can tell it's very professionally done. GO OLDCARDBOARD!!!!!

Thank you so much for that. It was really fun to watch. Unfortunately, my boss walked in while I was watching it. I minimized it, but forgot that I was also streaming the PGA Championship . So I got busted with both. Anyway, thanks again for the video.

Also wanted to say that I am a new subscriber to the magazine this year and I love it! I highly recommend it to everyone in the hobby.

Excellent video. I recognized many faces there. I was hoping to see myself in the background so that I had proof to show my wife on my whereabouts that weekend.

Easily solved. PSA or SGC can certify your presence at Nationals each year for the rest of your life. After that...well, I'm sure others will gladly do the same if the money's right.

Jeff- you're in the video, and I learned that I've been pronouncing your name wrong. I thought it was a short "i", like "prisoner." But it's Prize-ner. Live and learn.

Hey Jeff
We must have met at least 10 times and I never knew it was a long "I" either. You should have said something but I guess it's no big deal. I just learned someone elses name I had wrong yesterday too. I had introduced him to a half a dozen people, at the National, and clearly had his last name completely wrong. I blame it on old age!!

i made sure i learned how to pronounce it after i learned that you were
the fan craze king some years back.
after seeing the video, i was shocked that you were a young fellow.
but even barry sloate is younger than i am.

a great video with some great accents from Ted Z., Leon L., JimB, Bruce B. et al.

best,

Watched it and loved it, of course I'd expect nothing less from Brett & Lyman. Among many things, I liked Bill Cornell's crack on collecting "Ramlys, T222s, and everything Jay Miller wants" . I only hope you are referring to N288s and the like. If it were OJs, I suspect you now call a cardboard box home All the best to all involved in making the video.

I'm issuing An Official Network54 Apology™ for my thoughtless crack about Jay... I didn't realize the camera was rolling. Actually, I caught him out of the corner of my eye when Brett started and couldn't resist. All your OJ's are safe, boys.

I still can't get over the guy with the paint-peeling Maryland accent at about the 20 minute mark (note: that's Dan Mckee, who started in the hobby around 1889). And they make fun of the way we talk in MA?

Nice video. Interesting to see Doug Allen and John Rogers in there, pre-prison, with Rogers showing off the Conlon collection photos before he sold off a bunch of them.
