Default T206 Neighbours

There has been some impressive progress with the P150 scratches and the two name cards but nothing official for neighbouring cards. Let's start.

There are a few ways to find these out.
front miscuts
double strike "ghosts"
known test print sheet mates
front overprint ghosts.

If you have any examples please post them.

Miller/Barbeau double strike & confirmed sheet mates.

Front miscut (Nice Willis Johnny!)

Test print sheet mates.

Nice card by the way

Hi Brian

Nope, just stole your scans. Would love to own those T206s though. They are beauties!

I've got a few more to post. Just need to find them. This is what happens when you gather scans for over 5 years.

Hi Jantz,
I've been collecting scans for over 10 myself... The key is keeping them all organized. I'll try to browse thru and find several more.

Hi Chris,
They do match up... I have known about the collection for quite awhile and had scans for years.... The collector and I were both trying to put together a sheet by using blank backs, 2 names, miscuts, big borders, as well as info obtained from certain original finds.... I'm also hopeful that the Print mark discussions will bear fruit and will post some of mine soon.

I do think Tim's research and development of the Print group theory will continue to explain many of the mysteries that have driven T206 nuts crazy for years...
Be well Brian

If anyone can identify the test prints shown above it would be much appreciated.

Schirm/Mullen & ??/Hayden

Reulbach/Konetchy

I have a theory that only one or two sheets of yellow brown cards were printed. Both Reulback & Konetchy are known examples.

Hi Chris,

From my monitor it looks like Schirm ghost on the left, Mullen ghost on the right and Delehanty, Louisville upside down on Mullen's jersey.

On your Hayden scan, the ghost on the left is LaPorte. Notice the glove & ball next to Hayden's left ear and the "rk" on ghost's jersey.

At least thats what I see.

Hope this helps you.

This fantastic article by Tim is why the #34 seems to make sense. Not to sidetrack this thread, but along with the print groups, I can't help but lean in this direction. Great work on that Tim.

Sincerely, Clayton

LaPorte is Hayden's neighbor; you can see the "RK" of New York and the ball in the glove are the clues.

Default A new ghost!

Picked up another (although I will say that I will likely put this on BST). But just wanted to share to this thread. I'd like to see if we can get more of these images in this thread.

Wilson ghost demonstrates that his "left" mate is Topsy Hartsel, at least in this instance of the Piedmont 350 sheet.

Picked up this Bergen from Ed H. (Thanks again Ed!) at the National this week.

Buck Herzog, Boston is the player on the right side.

The back on this card is a Piedmont 350-460 F#25

Thanks Pat & Bryan

I didn't really need the card for my set, but I thought it would serve well as another piece to the puzzle.
