Default Reprint or not W512 Babe Ruth

I just purchased these two W512 (I think) strip cards and want opinions whether or not they could be reprints. Any help is appreciated.
Thank you,
Robert

I greatly prefer the one on the left as more of the fine detail, like lines around his eyes, is clear, but I'm far from an expert.

I know, but man the one on the right looks like a reproduction of the one on the left. Everything on it is just a bit smeared or blurry. Of course it could be just a bad press run too.

Thanks guys. Well, I guess they go in the "Send To PSA" box. That box is starting to overflow now. May be time to renew membership.
Thanks again,
Robert

They both look fine to me. One is just printed much lighter (left) and doesn't seem to have the same pass of color that the right has. That is why the hair is red and not brown as the color pass looks to have not made it or it was the beginning of the sheet where ink is usually dialed in after as the press gets going.

Just my opinion but they don't have that tell tale fake cracking that you see on 99.9% of reprint strip cards.

hmmm the color difference is interesting and maybe that last pass is what caused the less defined nature of the card on the right. Leon's examples have the clarity of the one on the left but the color of the one on the right.

What do the backs look like? Are they the same color paper as the fronts? Many reprints print the old color of the original on the front of otherwise cleaner card stock and the back is lighter. Also look at the wear on the edges and see if it looks like old card stock or not.

They are old stock for sure. I will post scans shortly. They also pass the smell test.......from being in a basement.
Some really nice things walked through his door the past year or so.
Thanks,
Robert

Backs look good. The staining seems to mirror the staining on the fronts. I think they are legit, just in poor shape.
