Default 1959 Topps complete set

Gentlemen,

I am going to look at a 1959 Topps complete raw set today and wondered if anyone could give me an idea of value in VG and EX. The gentlemen said that most of the cards were in in this condition range. Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Kiya

Default $1100-$1500

Probably $1100-$1500 tops. I sold one on the board for around that. The condition on the 5 Mantles, Gibson RC, Aaron, Mays, Clemente, other major stars, high #'s including All-Star cards, will dictate how high/low on the spectrum you should go....If you sell, keep in mind you will get hit with almost 15% fees on eBay-Paypal, plus $50 to ship insured.

I bought the set without the high numbers for $700 in VG =/- last winter. It's not my favorite set, but I liked the format. Do your homework on the variations. Some can be worth a higher price in VG/Ex and you may be able to spin these off and replace with a cheaper common.

Let us know what happens

Would be curious as to which Spahn DOB and which Sullivan trademark version you get with the set

Good call on the variations. I am not familiar with this so I will definitely look into it. I am not as positive as he canceled on me and said maybe this weekend. We will see.

I actually received the rarer one. Also received the mid series cards with the traded line items on it. First through that was the scarcer, but it seems not. Haven't bought any of the allstars (last 22) yet. I don't find them attractive so I continue to push it off.
