THE SHOW AT CHANTILLY

March 16-17-18, 2007

Show Hours: Friday 2pm-8pm

Saturday 9am-6pm

Sunday 10am-4pm

The show is in a couple of days.
By now we can firm up our plans.
We can either meet up outside "Where the Elite meet to Eat", or meet inside at Virginia's version of "Meet me at the Ritz. ... or both.

On Friday, I'll be there for both.

On Saturday, St Patties day, I'll be joining Larrie Dean for dinner after the show.
Sounds like a good idea, anyone else interested, jump in. ... the more the merrier.

It's just a couple of days away. ... looking forward to it.

Joe P.

Joe--

I look forward to meeting on Friday, either before the show at one of the nearby fast food joints (Chick-fil-A?), or during the show at the snack bar. I don't have strong feelings and defer to others. I would say, though, that if one plans on eating, the fast food joints I think are preferable to the snack bar, although this may be a case of "mincing hairs"(?).

I have plans for Saturday night but look forward to seeing Larrie (and Cy) at the show.

Mark

What's the name of the nearby eatery you had in mind?
Maybe some of the dealers, and collectors might want to join us?

I feel that there's a deeper collecting interest in this area than we think, and this is a good way to get to know each other. ... that also means that we'll have to check our guns in at the door.

Anyway you cut it, it's a win/win situation.

Looking forward to game time.

Joe

Joe --- I will talk with other collectors and dealers. I particularly enjoy Rand Bailey, however, I think he is not coming. I'll check with others. Ken Cohen is a Board member who frequently is around on Saturday. All are welcome!

As to the eating place...I am very flexible...either fast food or a more formal sit down place would be fine...I had no particular place in mind. Larrie

It was truly a pleasure meeting you guys (ie Joe & Mark) at a previous Chantilly show a while back. I WILL be at the show on FRIDAY when it opens at 2 pm. Also, I'm not sure right now where in the Chantilly area I will eat lunch Friday, but I will post the name & location (it could be on Route 7 or 50), so anyone can come to meet. Just look for the short puny looking slob.

Alan

I'll be there for much of the show and would enjoying meeting Net54ers. Is there a Net54 high sign for mutual recognition?

Alan, and anyone else.
I'm grabbin a McChicken, and washin it down with a diet sometin at the Mcdonalds near the show at 1PM.
I'll be the one with shifty eyes, wearin a straw hat.

Thank God for mental telepathy.
Cy I want to thank you for sending me your thoughts, and offering your assistance
Being that you will be at a table near the entrance.
I designate you as the Initial Greeter.
The greeters job is simple.
Smile, introduce yourself to those that don't know you, and jot down an outstanding descriptive something about each collector for the purpose of helping the collectors that might come later.
No mug shots of me please.
I don't want to destroy the eyeballs of those that need them to check out cards.

Might not be a bad idea for the other tables to do that.
The collectors will be going around checking cards, and saying hello to the dealers.
It's a great chance and opportunity for Cy, Larrie, Huggins, Scott, Feagin, Don Otto and others to build a stonger connection with us poor indentured servants of the tobacco and e-card world.

I strongly feel, that there's a deeper collecting base in our area than we know.
We wont know if we don't talk about it.

Kenneth A. Cohen, where have you been?
For a second I thought you moved to NYC. (my favorite place of the world BTW.)
Believe me, when it comes to cards, this area is not chop liver, ... We can compete.
You and I, are gonna havta sit down and talk about da Jets and da Sharks.

About the high sign?
No high sign, I'll be the one wearin da straw hat with shifty eyes, or is dat, shifty eyes wearin a straw hat?

Looking forward to meeting you.

Joe P.

It didn't stop Mark, Alan and myself from having a few good laughs while I fed my face a McChicken.
Alan wants you to think that he's puny, but he has a very disarming huge sense of humor.
We finally had to catch the two o'clock openning.
After getting in, I lost sight of the two critters.
Alan had the look of a super serious tracker & hunter, he had the look of whatever his collecting prey might be, it didn't have a chance.
After seeing Don Johnson, Larrie Dean, and Don Otto, I pitched camp at Cy's table for a while.
While there, I got to meet up with MacBruce, (memory of an eagle) Ken Cohen, (last man standing funny guy) a few others, and low and behold, Alan appears like the apparition of Hamlets ghost.
Other collectors appeared, some lurkers of 54, it was almost like we were hanging around a cracker barrel.
After awhile some of us went back to the hunt, and I really don't know whatever happened to Mark, he also had that serious look as we left McDonalds.
I can only speak for myself, I picked up a very reasonably priced card for my beater T206 set, it brings it down to nine.
Going back on Saturday to hunt some more, and have dinner with Ken Cohen, Larrie Dean and anyone else.
Joe P.
