I am thinking about submiting this 1911 Zeenut to SGC for grading. Without regard to the condition of the card in general what do you think would be the highest grade with the clipped lower left corner? Thanks!

Would only get a 10 (1) from SGC....alhough if you send to GAI they might give it a 3-4....and PSA might not know what it is (ok, had to ...it's been so long since I bashed).....regards

Will SGC assign a 1 with a piece missing? I would think it would get an "authentic" only. Dan.

SGC would give it a 1 unless they found it tampered with...and the tampering being what we all consider tampering...not a corner torn off.....I strongly believe this one would get a 1. Now on the other issue please enlighten me again on the Tattoo orbit wrappers...(in the other thread about Tatoo wrappers).later...

This guy was rejected by SGC because the piece missing was too big.

I had a Dietsche Frank Chance postcard that had a piece missing that got a 10 from SGC. There were some additional problem though with the Chance. It is up for auction now on Ebay if you want to take a look at it.

I have had several cards with smaller pieces missing that got a 20 from SGC

Jeff

I guess I just showed my true 3rd party grading expertise. See how much I know, not much.

Knowing you're only going to get a 10 would you do it?

I am surprised that got rejected if it was only that piece missing and there are no other issues beside the creasing etc. SGC will look at things again and give more thought to it, if asked. I think you could successfully argue and get that into a 1 holder if you wanted to...again, if there are no other hidden issues. regards

I submitted a 1928 PCL Exhibit with the corner coupon clipped off and SGC refused to grade it as too much missing. Ditto a Zeenut Averill they felt was too small and a 1931 W517 mini they felt was too closely clipped. The latter now reside in "A" holders (not my choosing).
