Default SOLD - 1859 Knickerbockers Large Collotype

SOLD 1859 Knickerbockers Large Collotype

This is a vintage Collotype of this well known panoramic style photograph of the 1859 New York Knickerbockers and Brooklyn Excelsiors baseball teams. I believe this piece to be made using the very rare collotype processes. This high quality process is somewhere between a photograph and lithograph and was popular in the late 1860's and 1870's.

This piece is DEFFINITELY OLD and is almost certainly 19th century. The piece is a large 9 x 13.5 inches and printed on a 11 x 14 inch sheet which would look very impressive framed out and hung as a centerpiece, gracing even the most advanced 19th century collection.

There is some foxing at the bottom and shows some minor signs of handling. You won't get your hands on the original, so this vintage rarity is the closest you will get.

SOLD
