Default T205 Cobby in a PSA 3 Holder

Do you guys think this holder is compromised?

It is scanned on a white background and the dude intentionally OD on the brightness. The holder is almost invisible. The paper loss on the back would suggest an over grade or maybe a resealed holder based on the obvious poor scans provided.

I honestly believe it's one of those weird "old" 3's. Would it get a 3 today, hell no. He has big sales to experienced buyers of iconic cards so I would bet it's OK, just a weird "3"

I don't think a card missing that much paper ever got a 3, did it?

That seller has a sales website. He has some very decent cards (lots of Cobbs, Wagners, Ruth), generally in low-middle grade. I know several of the cards on his site and I have emailed with him about a few cards (never struck a deal). I can’t/won’t comment on the card and holder - I agree the holder is impossible to see on that scan and his scans don’t generally look like that- but I think the seller is generally legit with generally legit cards. I think it’s likely an example of how inconsistent vintage, PSA graded cards can be, and this is a bad-misgrade.

All that said, if there is any ounce of doubt, pass on the card. Life is too short, and that is hardly an uncommon card - I bet you already have a/several better t205 Cobs already
