Default 1939 M101 -9 Sporting News Experts out there

Hello all. I picked up two items from a thrift store that say they are sporting news 1939 upper left corner. One is Bob Feller and one is Cardinals team. I THINK these are 1939 M101 -9 Sporting News, but not familiar.

The seem to be just plain magazine pages and look pretty old and correct. Blank back, reddish ink. Were these printed like this or where they on cardstock? Any insight appreciated.

Default Opinion

Those images are correct for the M101-9…. paper looks old and may be legit but my experience ( and I’m far from an expert) is that they always are printed in a reddish looking ink vs B/W. I’d be interested to hear what others think about the color issue. Still one hail of a thrift store find !!!

ink does appear a bit reddish. a strore in San Fernando valley has a lot of magazines, lousy cards, LPs, books, etc., and had these both for $20 so I rolled the dice. Thanks for the info!
