Default Awesome Auction Find

So I went to a local auction and found these cards in a a few boxes. I had 2 others bidding against me but the auction was cash only and they didnt have enough in hand. The boxes were loaded. We have already sent out 23 cards for grading.

They are 3 links to photos on Facebook. It is likely that they are not marked as being publicly viewable.

Photos should be good now. there was a near complete set of 58 Topps laying under a 79 Topps set in 9 pocket pages in one box and then a box of singles that was jammed full of stuff.

some of the 58s have creases but the 53s are centered and edges are solid.

You really scored some nice star cards. How many cards total were in the boxes you bought, and how many different years were represented?

Wow! Great haul. I've been to many an auction but have never seen a group like this live. Congrats! That Reese is amazing. Very easy to have surface wear.

there was a ton of good stuff in these 2 boxes. The other 2 buyers had an idea but lacked the money to buy at a cash auction. I was able to flip some of the commons because of their condition. Going thru the 55 Topps commons i found a Dusty Rhodes #1 in the best shape ive ever seen unslabbed.

As for auctions if you continue to go to the live ones you will find some gems. While I admit this haul is not something you would expect but when it happens you tap every bank account to make sure you can buy it.

The Rhodes is one I saw a pic of. It is definitely a blazer. Did you send it to get graded Keith ?

The Rhodes has been sent inwith the Paiges, Fords, 57 Mantle, Reese rc and about 19 other cards. Depending on the grades will depend where i sell them, or keep for a rainy day fund to go with my Xmen #1 thats put away.

Wow. You lucked out with those lightweight competitors. I cannot believe people go hunting for bear armed for squirrels, so to speak.
