Default Anyone seen these cards before???

Posted By: fkw

Anyone ever seen this type of cards before?? The left 2 cards (Cobb, Mathewson) are based on T206 cards, the right card (Johnson) is based on the T205/T202 card, I dont know where the Collins card photo comes from???. I would think they are reprints, but I have never seen this type of reprint before, and they do look to be worn like an authentic card. Backs are said to be blank. Frank

The typeface and white band almost makes them look similar to the Golden Press issue. Is the Collins the same pose as his T201? It looks like a T201 type image.

Either way, not something I've seen before.

... of the May, 1950, issue of Holiday magazine, which did a lengthy feature on baseball. They must have been glued to a cardboard back, as the magazine page has pictures and text on back. There are 35 T-card "reprints" on the page.

Hi Bob, Thanks for the info, I'll pass it on to the owner. Just got my 2004 SCD catalog, another great job! Thanks again, Frank
