Default 1929 Leader Novelty

I recently purchased a few of these (all of them trimmed). The cards were Frankie Fritch, Mel Ott, Hack Wilson, and Bill Terry. I did not see the Bill Terry card in any of the online checklists. The auction also had a Charley Root which was also uncatalogued (to my regret, I didn't purchased it). I realize the checklist on these cards/strips(?) is incomplete, but by chance, does anybody have a recent checklist? My apologies for the bad scan on the Terry card.

Heck, I'll even settle for some pics. Lets see some....

Default maybe....

The Leader Novelty set is thought to have the same cards as the Kashin, R316 set, which numbers 101 (though most aren't catalogued yet). They are also thought to have been put into Leader Candy boxes but I think they might have been strips or issued as part of the box, from the specimans I have seen. Only approx. 20 are catalogued in the SCD. I guess they could have been cut from strips and put into boxes too.....Still one of the mysteries we have to solve...

Whenever I questioned Archive about these, I get more and more confused. Some Net54ers are absolutely adamant about the fact that they were factory cut. Yet, in my small sample and the one Leon displayed, they are hand cut on all four sides. On the ones shown below, the top-down hand cutting would make sense, but the side-to-side cutting is perplexing, since there does not appear to be alot of wiggle room (so why would a kid even bother to cut these (side-to-side) if they were already factory cut)???

Lovely Day...
