Default Alright Fans of Chicagoland... Show your Stuff.

Cubbies or Chi-Sox... Let's see what you have.

Although I was born there, my family moved to LA when I was five, back in 1963. I guess what I'm trying to say is, actually, I'm a little ashamed to say... I don't have much at all of Cubs/Sox memorabilia. But I would sure love to see what you guys have!

One of my favorite topics!!! We have discussed it before and all agree the Cubbies are at least in the top three for vintage memorabilia. There are soo many pieces I hope to add over time. Great post.

My main collecting interest. I posted a few programs in another thread a several weeks ago but here are a few more items:

1) 1876 Cubs (whitestockings) scorecard with Spalding pitching and batting 5th.

2) 1918 Cubs World Series Programs

3) 1911 Cubs/Sox city series games program

4) 1916 Cubs Season Pass - 1st year cubs at wrigley. Pass is made out to former Cubs owner Charles Murphy and is in Charles Weeghman's handwriting.

5) 1919 White Sox celluloid season pass

Another great thread...

Mike H - are those Bears doing what I think they're doing on the Burgundy Pennant? (Very naughty... bet that one was a favorite of the Bleacher Bums back in the day!)

Here are some of mine... I'll try to post some new/fresh stuff later...

Default Chicago Cubs?? Oversize Pennant

I think I have seen this pennant before in an old photo, possibly on the old forum. I have searched this forum for the photo without any luck. If my memory is correct, the photo shows a fan outside the Cubs ballpark standing with the pennant draped over the shoulder. If anyone has this photo or can share any info about the pennant it would be much appreciated. Is this possibly one of a kind? I have never seen this version before. Can this be attributed to the Cubs? Many of the Cubs pennants from the period are found with this red/maroon color. I am familiar with the blue White Sox version that Mark (Perezfan) was kind enough to share.

I do strongly believe it's a Cubs Pennant (and the direct counterpart to the White Sox Version I posted above). Most of the Cubs Pennants from the teens were maroon/burgundy/deep red, for whatever reason. Check out those posted by Mike H and myself, as well as the Hunt/Mastro/Lelands/REA archives.

It's an extremely rare and desirable pennant, and I would bet that the number of surviving examples can be counted on the fingers of one hand. To call it one-of-a-kind would be a stretch, but it's not that far off. Wonderful pennant... if you ever think about selling/trading, please let me know, as it would be a wonderful companion to my White Sox counterpart.

Conversely, if you are interested in my White Sox Pennant (to match yours) feel free to contact me. These two probably belong together.... thanks for posting it!

Default kids bats

Friend just gave this to me last night - from a "49" game that he and his father went to. Not prewar but a nice little gift from a nice guy.

Just picked this one up, and looking for some companion display pieces! Harry Steinfeldt's 1909 road jersey, obtained from a Chicago area family who had the jersey for over 100 years. The "find" of a lifetime for a Die-Hard Cubs fan like me.
