That's a spiffy Lajoie postcard Jeff. I haven't ever seen that before.

Great Van Oeyen Lajoie. That Larry sure had a tremedous head of hair. (Nice Cobby as well)

Jeff....
Awesome cards. Did SGC misspell Mordacai? or did Fan Craze misspell Mordecai?

The Lajoie is just about the ugliest card I have ever seen.
You should be happy to rid yourself of it if you ever get the opportunity to trade it.

Joe, interesting that you caught that as well. I hadn't noticed it until literally when I posted the scan this morning. From what I've been able to gather, the correct spelling is "Mordecai."

After a tough round of negotiations and beating Leon in arm wrestling and paper, rock, scissors I was finally able to get this.

He's really not as bad as Jeff and Barry say. happy.gif

Thanks Leon!

Matty from BST (Thanks Adam); Leach from eBay
[linked image] [linked image]

Coveleskie and Delehanty from eBay; Clarke from Memory Lane. Slowly building an E93 set.
[linked image] [linked image] [linked image]

Like the National Chicle football cards alot. This is my first type card for the set. Back says Kelley preferred playing without a helmet. Ouch!!
[linked image]

Just 10 more Ice Kings to go for a set. The last ones have not been coming easy.
[linked image] [linked image]

Won a couple of things from Mastro and expect them any day; will append to this post then.

Holy Moses! Vintage cards, scantily-clad Polynesian maidens, plenty penguins, authentic Dutch people and more.
(BBHoF album updated, new E93 album, new Ice Kings album)

Dan, I hope you don't think this questions is inappropriate, but I am curious to know if you were able to pick up those Cameo Pepsins for a song or something closer to market price. I'm not asking what you paid. I'm just wondering if it was one of those old-fashioned swap-meet finds that never happens anymore, or just a purchase of great items in an unexpected location.

Dan- you must have the best antique shows in America. When I go to an antique show in eastern Long Island all I find is 1940's patio furniture.

I think it's probably all about location. How can those pins sit there for an entire day and a half of the show without someone snagging them? I have almost no competition. I gotta say though it's not like I find stuff like that at every show. There's an old gal set up there from Tilden, NE who knows the Ashburn family...she told me Richie's niece owns three of his uniforms including one from his rookie year. I keep waiting for her to bring them...still waiting. wink.gif
