Sometimes I will attain a card because I like the "pose". This is one such case...

I've been outbid many times on this (my favorite) Brown variation.

This puts me at 45/524. Almost there.

Chris:

Great pick-up on the Travis Jackson. I have been looking for that card for a couple of years and have never seen one come up on e-bay or elsewhere for that matter.

Bill- Good luck with the T207 set. For those who collect it, it is a journey and requires patience but it is my favorite set of them all.

I like the Travis Jackson card too, but is the 1922 date really correct for the V89 Wm Patterson cards? Jackson played only three games in 1922, with his first game being September 27th. It seems real strange that he would be in a 1922 set, and even stranger that the Wm Patterson company would already have a photo of him in a Giants uniform.

That's a good point, Paul. I guess other cards from the set would have to be used to pin down possible issue date(s). With the Travis Jackson, his next earliest card is from 1925 so even if the Wm Patersaons were issued in 1923 or 1924 instead of 1922, it would still be his Rookie Card.

I had always assumed the 1925 W590 was Travis Jackson's rookie. I used to own one, traded it away, and always regretted it. Now, I don't feel so bad. I'll stop looking for the W590 and start looking for the V89. But I don't think it will be easy for me to find.

I would agree it seems unlikely that Travis Jackson would have a 1922 card based on the stats he put up for the Giants that season. I have never seen them listed as anything other than a 1922 issue - maybe they were issued over a two year period?

This is the first Jackson I have ever seen. Paterson's are extremely tough, and with their (mostly) unique poses, they dont get the credit they deserve IMO...

Jeff - So thats where the Chase ended up. I wanted that one to.
I was able to grab the Evers and the Bender white cap though.
I thought these three cards were the prettiest in the group.

Daryle - Nice Goudey, I'm partial to the 33's. We don't see enough of those in my opinion.
