Default !915 Babe & a few teammates...

This original vintage photo is from a rain-out during the 1915 World Series. These Sox players spent the afternoon at a newspaper's photo dept going through photographs of themselves. What a thrill that must have been!

Default a few more...

This 1938 card was bought as a companion piece to display with the exceedingly rare '38 "heads up" wrapper. I decided on Foxx because I felt he gave me the biggest bang for my buck. And. it didn't hurt that he became the first three-time winner of the MVP in that year as well.

Default Duffy

I can't wait to see Rawn's items. I am sure there will be some "Rough" items. This is one of my favorite items, a tribute to Duffy Lewis in 1947. He started the left field tradition (Duffy's Cliff) in Red Sox lore before the Kid and Yaz and Rice.

Nice Duffy's Mike. How about letting me see that Ramley one more time.

Really neat Duffy Lewis tribute.

Edited to add: One of the downsides of being a Yankees fan (which I am not, in particular) is that you are compelled to hate the Red Sox. How could anybody hate the Red Sox? It's like hating Thomas Jefferson or chocolate chip cookies or Miss September. It's un-American.

Here you go Rawn. It's helping me towards the Boston AL Subset but I have a feeling it will be back at your house (where it belongs) sometime in the future. Down to needing 4 of the 15. Arrelanes, Niles, Stahl and Lindaman left.

David: Nice C-M Duffy. If you ever feel the need to part with it, look me up.

Also had to throw in the 67 Red Sox stickers. My favorite set as a 6-7 year old kid just getting into cards. Who knew it would be a life long habit.

Default 1939 Red Sox Ticket Stub

Picked up this 1939 Red Sox ticket stub from a fellow board member, is there a way I can find out what game it was?

Also, picked up a Yaz lot that included a run of his cards. Was pleasantly surprised at the condition of the cards. Here are most of the regular issue sixties.

But the best thing I liked in the lot and maybe the most worthless was this patch which I think is cool.

Also included an autograph photo personalized to me right after 1967 when I was 7. Then as a rebel 8 year old, I tore it in half in a fit of anger at my parents . This photo is now priceless to me

Default Nice Steve! You know I forgot about this thread....

and since I don't have any new Red Sox pieces to share, I'd thought I'd post Ben's (ForeverYoung) incredible "Teddy" Williams childhood portrait he won in the Bill Mastro auction.

How sweet is this!

That's a great photo. Would love to eventually find a 1909-1912 original photo / postcard to put in with my T206 display. Currently have a reprint.

Default Been "Away"

This thread should never go away. In the words of Lee Iacocca for the Mustang debut, It's coming. I see many of my old treasures posted, good to see people love the items. All of my remaining items from the estate and collection will up for sale next Sunday. Starting with this.

I'm not sure who this is, if it's even Boston Red Sox player. Could it be Ortiz? Or maybe Brooklyn Dodgers player?
