Default Which rut are you in?

I recently jokingly chided a collecting colleague regarding their apparent total focus on pretty vignette type cards. Just this morning, I glanced in the mirror and saw a person who has become obcessed with two tone color cards.

Although it started simply enough: being surprised by the pink cards of the Batter up set; eventually buying batter ups only based on the color, then trying to tabulate color scarcity. And the progression - the earth tones of the W517s, the striking oranges and combinations of the Wheaties: settling for no less than completely dentilated Full Fancy Frames of the '35s, the striking multicolor (but including Wheaties orange) offerings of the '37s. And now, I am facing rock bottom: mentally justifying rationals in support of acquiring the obnoxious colors contained in the 1929 Exhibit 4 on 1 set.

I will change. I will buy something else. I will go cold turkey (for a while, anyway).

I know there are others here like and unlike me. Hooked on Obaks, OJs, and the dreaded Monster. It is time to confess. Come foward, admit "Hello, I am xxxxxx and I am addicted to Zeenuts". You will feel better.

And don't hide from the truth, thinking that there is justification for your obcession in "it is for the investment". If your only interest is in rare cards, we will sympathise with your plight. And some may offer to relieve you from your demons.

Still stuck in the "rookie card" rut.

Drawing the line, however, and NOT dipping into the "minor league" cards.

This will save me a LOT of money in NOT trying to win the 1914 Babe Ruth card.

Step back, take a breath, and go cold turkey.. Try to set back and fully appreciate what you have. Get off the high from buying and pocessing for once and enjoy your collection...

It will take up lots of time, satisfy your hobby fix, and it's basically free. Plus, we will get to see your stuff.

Don't let someone else do it for you. I can almost guarantee that if you give it the same flavor as your Net54 posts, it will become a cult favorite.

"cult favorite"? Oh, a quote from upcoming site: "None of these cards is for sale now. Within two years, ALL of them will be for sale."

Why do you have such a hard time accepting a compliment?
