Default O/T: Who are the 3 owners of the 3 known PSA 10 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle cards?

I know that one is owned by the same guy that owns the PSA 8 T-206 Wagner (The owner of the MLB Arizona baseball team)....but what about the 2 others...they NEVER seem to come up for auction so it got my curiosity?

Is the actor Billy Crystal one of the owners?

Do any of you know who the 2 others are?

Hey Zone...here we go again!!!

No offense my friend but this is the PreWWII Forum and you are talking about 1952.

The war went from 1939 and ended in 1945 therefore 1952 doesn't fall into the PreWWII forum.

In the future, please only talk about PreWWII topics when on this particular forum.

OK, sir?

I know the wars are easy to get confused and I wish we wouldn't have them but there are reasons why collectors are in this particular forum.

I think he would get a better response if he posted it in the right area.

Maybe he has been over on the other forum for that era and finds more gentlemen over here so I can understand why he feels more comfortable here in the PRE-WWII forum.

Adrian- you'll get just as much input on the post-war side, maybe even more as many of those posters may not spend much time on the vintage side.

Although interestingly enough, the 52 Mantle is now a 60+ year old card and an antique in its own right. But it's still the wrong forum.

So I have 2/3 of my answers only one other person out there owns a PSA 10 1952 Topps Mantle.

I am truly surprised that Billy Crystal (actor) does not own one!! He paid 239 000$ for his game used glove from the 1960 season.

Given the choice, i'd own his glove over the card without question...looks like Billy feels the same.

I'm not looking for a fight or an argument, but after reading this thread I went on to other threads in this prewar section and see that many of them are not about pre-war cards either. Why aren't you redirecting them too?

Because Adrian (hi Adrian) has a penchant for this type of issue. It's not isolated. I doubt anyone said anything (I could be wrong) the first or second time he did it. But we all love Adrian and it's not the end of the world.

And Adrian, Peter Garcia used to own one of the PSA 10s but not sure he does anymore.

He is a fairly young guy from San Antonio.....I have had really good conversations with him a few years ago but haven't spoken to him lately. I think his family owns some rental properties or apartments and he helps manage them, or something like that.

Thanks a lot Leon that really helps!!! I wonder if any of the 3 will ever come back up for sale....seems like they are all 3 in solid hands. I heard of one of them been offered 3$ million for his but refused the offer...have you heard of this? That would make it the most expensive card in the world if true!!

Adrian,

I want to formaly apologize to you for the comments that I made earlier in regards to posting a non PRE-WWII thread here in this section. In the future I will leave it up to the "brass" to give direction.

Since we are on the subject of 1952 Mantle and I know you love Mantle's; there is one Mantle that has a place in my heart. I wonder if you have one?

It is the 1965 Topps Push-Pull.

I would love to see a T206 Forum to go along with the NEW T206 B/S/T; I think that would be cool.

I think it is funny that we still have 7 T206 threads on the first page of the non-T206 forum. Not really.

Bingo parlors.
Peter isn't as active in cards as much as he used to be.

Didn't the Mantle glove that Billy Crystal bought turn out to be a fake, or am I thinking of something else?

Something along those lines.

http://www.nydailynews.com/archives/...ticle-1.514248

It was also discussed pretty extensively in The Card.
