I don't understand the obsession with when Goodwin starts his auction.

It's not an obsession, but it is more than mildly irritating when, for the second straight auction at least, Goodwin has given start dates, waited fairly close to their beginning, and then bumped them back multiple times for no good stated reason. Makes the auction look amateurish--they really should get their poop in a group.

So why the hell give a starting date? Let it happens when it happens.

Were you planning your social life around opening night?

Actually, I'm hoping to not be in jail. About to go downtown Phoenix. Like. Now.

Well Mister Smarty-Pants, it just so happens that my lady friend and I first met on 8/16, and I was going to pop the question to her on that day in code by making sure the lot number corresponding to the date I've reserved the wedding chapel for received the very first bid.

She's very perceptive.

Now I've cancelled the reservation. I guess it just wasn't meant to be.

Are you sure? They are now pulled from his site. The only thing on there now is his last auction.

Goodwin always has a dozen cards worthy of any collection. The highlights for his next auction are on the home page. Sick!

I rarely bid in his auctions anymore..I don't care for the management of the parent company either..
I prefer to support our advertisers and there is plenty to keep me busy.

Based on the number of calls I get about Ken Goldin I would say Goodwin is the safer bet.

What was the question, I think I missed it?

I will quickly say amen to that, and I'm not Bill Goodwin.

+1

The last time I won a lot from them, 1 of the better cards was not included in the shipment. I notified them immediately of such. A few days later they said it would be sent out right away and nothing ever showed up. After several weeks of waiting, we agreed on a partial refund. Multiple times I was told the check would be sent but it never was. It took almost 2 months after the auction ended and I made payment for everything to be settled.

If you look at the front page (desktop), you see the auction highlights for Proctor's Theater Ruth, Felix Mendelsohn Ruth and Cobb, W600 Wagner, Boston Garter Cobb, etc. These are all new items and not in the previous auction.
