Default Vintage Cabinet and Orioles Postcard ID Help

Posted By: James Feagin

My recent trip to the antique malls of Reno yielded these interesting pieces. Any help on IDing these? Years? Secondary values? The Orioles postcard looks much too young to be a part of the real team. According to the seller, the cabinet (I think that's an appropriate term) came from an old truck found in California. Perhaps a California league team? All help is wanted.....

James

Top photo... c. 1920's/30's college team.

Bottom photo... c. 1910's - 30's town or company team.

Thanks for your input. I would think that the top postcard might be a league, high school, or college team. Perhaps the Orioles were popular enough back then to warrant such a following? I think the bottom might be a bit older though. Do these pieces have any secondary value other than being unique?

My guess is the top photo comes from the teens ... I looked at some team photos from an old Reach guide, and the uniforms (check out the collars) look more representative of that era than the 20s or 30s. I believe the botom photos comes from about the 1920s, also based on the uniforms and caps. The cap style (dark with white trim) is often seen on 20s exhibit cards. I can't be sure, but I believe the top photo is older.

Pretty sure its early teens. I would put the top photo at c. 1910-1915 based on the uniforms(cadet collar), full sewn web gloves and the chest protector(inflatable..I believe). The combination of all this equipment would strong indicate early 1910s.

I'm using a 52 inch LCD monitor.
Why is it that I still have to screen from left to right?

Yesterday I was looking at the cabinet again and noticed that the first two letters on some of the uni's were "MA" and the last two were "ON" with about three letters between. Any processes I can use to make out the rest of the letters?

James
