Default A Question for All of you Wheaties Panel Fans...

Posted By: Brad Green

Below is one of my 1938 Wheaties Series 11 panels of Lefty Grove. I didn't realize until today that the waitress is serving Wheaties to Lefty out of (what I think is) a 1938 Wheaties Series 15 box. I have enlarged the picture of the Series 15 box so you can better see it. I don't know who is on that Series 15 box, but it's not Lefty.

My questions are as follows:

(1) Do all of the 1938 Wheaties Series 11 panels picture a Wheaties Series 15 box?
(2) Does Lefty's 1938 Wheaties Series 15 box appear on any other Wheaties Series 11 panels?

Default A Question for All of you Wheaties Panel Fans...

And for those of us who do not focus on Grove cards: whose Series 15 box is depicted on this card?

Lipsett's previous auction showed many series 15 boxes, but that has been replaced by his Nov offerings. Anyone copy those two series 15 partial sets which he auctioned off?

There may have been series 11 included in his auction as well, but I was only interested in the smaller wheaties.

Very heavy observation Brad, thank you.

Edited to add:

Gee, a baseball card showing another baseball card - how many of these exist?

Looks like they are eating the mini Ott card (small version of the attached Mel Ott.) (from Lew's last auction.)

Goodwin shows six Series 11 panels in the link below. Only three of those panels show a Series 15 box. One of the Series 15 boxes only shows the front of the box.

Anyone else have any Series 11 panels that show Series 15 boxes?
