Default Figurine Collection

The majority of my collection consists of Eagles items, but I have several non Eagles kails, nodders etc. I took these photos when I was in the process of moving my display case from one room to another; They do not usually reside on my pool table

Here is Groat from the 1950s series. I have the complete set of 20. Also, here is Cobb from the newer series. As far a bobbers, they are all gone I had over 150 at one time.

The Clemente nodder is one of my favorite pieces of memorabilia...

A rare Clemente statue that unfortunately has been "re-painted". I'll probably have it professionally restored one day. The blue uniform just doesn't cut it....also some tough Transograms...

and a Ruth doorstop...

While not vintage, the Vancouver Canadians had a "Bob Brown Bear" (Bob, of Obak fame) last year in the image of the public art large size Bob Brown Bear Jennifer did (and which now is on display at Nat Bailey Stadium)

OK, I have one vintage bobblehead--the Expos

Default Hartland, Bobble, Random

Mantle Hartland, Babe Ruth bookends or door stops, Yankees bobble head, Phillies doll, and assorted small figurines, including Italian paper mache and Little Leaguer baseball set with metal baseball players. These are quite rare and I have not seen them in fastened in their original box like this.

Default I like Hartlands

It's not in my direct focus - but I like 60s Hartlands and used to buy SLU's - I pick up a Hartland from time to time - if I complete the set - that'll be OK too.

One of my favorites is Yogi with mask.

The Griffey RC SLU "sliding" var is one of my all-time favorite SLU's:

I do have a Ritgers baseball set of 3 - 2 players and ump - no pic/scan - will have to add later.

Just unpacked a few boxes and came across some goodies...

1. Mantle, Maris and Clemente variations

2. My two favorite Mascot Heads... The incredibly detailed Cardinals and ultra-cute Cubbie

3. A rare Pilots Nodder (have a new appreciation for it since I'm now in Seattle)

4. Senators Blackface example

5. A few minis... I think I like these ones the best. These were so tough to find without any chips, cracks or restoration.... and pricey! This was before the days of ebay... subsequently the prices come down.

Along with a few others, I think I kept Tim Hunter in business for a 5 year period in the early-mid '90s. I tried Ebay for a while, but was NEVER able to find even one that was properly described by the seller (not to mention the "interesting" ways in which they were packaged!)

Mark,

I bought one of my two Indians black-face bobbin' heads on eBay -- only because I was able to drive (2 hours) to inspect it before the auction ended and the seller agreed to let me pick it up in person if I was the high bidder.

Speaking of Tim Hunter ... anyone know what he's doing these days?

WOW... awesome Dodgers assortment, Bob! I especially love those early 1960s Dodger Weirdo variations. Talk about tough to find in decent shape... those are nearly impossible! Nice post!

Also thought you might like to see these below. Not Nodders, but same genre... have you ever seen the Rubber Willard Mullin Bendable Bum before? I've never seen another. The Dodgers have sure had some great stuff over the years!

Thanks, I recently picked up this one as well.

I have seen those before but not in as good as condition as yours, very nice!

As a side note all the Weirdo's have the associated tags

Sweet.... the Sweeper Guy is my favorite from the set. How the $#&% do you find them in that condition? Great stuff...

Regarding the Mullin Bum Figural, I betcha haven't seen the accompanying Flyer before (it came with the Figure, which does not look to be mass-produced).

I have no bobble heads or DQs, and since the Hartland statues have been well represented, here are some of chalkware pieces and an unbuilt model.

I'm not sure anyone cares besides me and jimm....but has anyone ever seen a vintage advertisement for the weirdos? They were made by Kreiss and Co. out of LA. I would love to know exactly when they were made and what they retailed for. Info is basically non-existent, as far as I know.

I believe it was the same company as made the Drunk, Goofy Dr, Bowler, and a bunch more. Forget what the name of that line was.

Great informative article below from Lou, for those who like the Kreiss Weirdos. It shows a couple of very rare variations and references the Giants pieces, which supposedly exist...

This link shows the Dodgers Blackface version and a couple of Giants. Wouldn't it be great to go back in time, and snatch up every one of these?

That is a great article and even tho Lou rightly states you never know what will turn up, I think the Giants weirdos were limited to crybaby, grouchy and screwball. jimm shows another (blackface, to boot) but I just don't know....

Man, I would love to see a Kreiss sales catalog from 1960!!!

Default weirdos

I have actually owned a black face Giants doll about 8 or 9 years ago that I purchased on eBay. I later sold it through in an auction through Lou's site. I will try and get him to come on here and talk about them as I know he his very knowledgeable with them. I have a black face Dodgers Weirdo but I am missing three others from the series, two of which there are only one or two known (the bathing beauty and big headed angry weirdo). The one I am missing but is a fairly common one is the Stealing Second Weirdo (I would gladly buy if anyone has one)?

Here is an article that Lou wrote for Collectibles Central:

I believe so but I do not remember with certainty.

Is this the one you call the "big headed angry weirdo"? I absolutely LOVE that one. As I said, I would just love to see an original price list or literature on these guys so we would finally know what was made for the GIANTS.
