Default Fun Lew Lipset Sales Lists Blast from the Past

Found these while rooting around old paperwork. I believe they are from around 1985. I am proud to state that I resisted the temptation to purchase anything on these lists.

Brian, would you happen to know what year that list is from?

Anybody want to create a list and show how much those cards have most recently sold for?

Fred, I believe 1985 or 1986.

I e-mailed these to Lew, and he doesn't know when they're from, except that they're definitely before he moved to Arizona in 1995. He said the computer looks like an early one, so his best guess is 1985-1990. They look like his ads in The Trader Speaks, which ended in 1983, but his ads wouldn't have "SOLD" in them, and he doesn't think he would be selling that much 19th century stuff that early.

Below is Lew's 19th century price guide from the first issue of The Old Judge, February 1985. The prices appear to be in the same ballpark as those on Brian's list, so Brian's guess of 1985 looks pretty good.

IIRC I bought the Texas Tommy WaJo for $175 and then said later "what the hell was I thinking"

It's interesting that the N403 cards are referred to a "AUGUST BECK" rather than "YUM YUM."

That would have been a sweet buy. It is a great card and one (not that particular one) which I used to own, many moons ago.

Great lists posted. Thanks!!
