Default Perfect Game Larsen & Berra Autographed Ticket

New to the site. Trying to upload image to share, not sell. I think that I have figured out how this works to upload images. Wonder what the members think this perfect game ticket stub signed by Don and Yogi might be worth?
I bought the ticket stub and obtained the autographs myself so I know they're legit. Thanks for your input. I'm keeping it, so I'm not looking for offers.

Frank

Frank,

Welcome to net54! This is a nice looking, signed ticket to Larson's W.S. perfect game. A great piece of baseball history!

The value of the ticket with sigs would probably land somewhere in the $400- $500 range. What holds it back from being more valuable is the condition of the stub itself which would probably grade VG.

There are lots of tickets to this game out there as there were over 64,000 in attendance and people did save World Series tickets as momentos.

I hope you find this helpful.

There are probably more stubs in the hobby for this game than for any other 1950's WS game. It seems that everyone who was there saved the stub. Though it is relatively common it is still in demand.

I agree with both Scott and Richard. 400 - 500 seems about right and those stubs are fairly easy to find. Don't be fooled by some of the dealers that have them on ebay for $1000 plus...they aren't selling and won't sell at that price.

Ebay sale this week of similar item for over $1100. It may have been a little cleaner. Thanks for your input.

I saw that one on ebay go for $1135.56, and although it was in a little better shape, that price made absolutely no sense. You could easily find one in that condition for $700 and then have Larsen and Berra sign it for and additional $150.

Mike,
Wasn't the Larsen/Berra PG ticket from Henry Yee's auction? I believe that has an influence on the higher price, IMHO...

Scott, that wasn't from Henry's auction, but was from another good seller that does tend to get some pretty good stuff. Still, that price was just plain silly unless either Berra or Larsen just passed away and I didn't hear about it

Perhaps you missed the newsflash Mike.
Both Larsen and Berra died in a tragic plane crash while flying provisions to Nicaragua, which immediately annointed them as saints and increasing the value of that one signed ticket by $400- $500 over other similar examples....

Sometimes you just have to wonder why certain things sell for way more than they should. It only takes two crazy bidders and some strong narcotics! LOL

Dang, I missed that tragic news. Now I understand why a ticket signed by St. Yogi would go for so much...and flying provisions to Nicaragua is like Deja Vu all over again!

My ex-GF dad was at that game, he was 20 yrs old at the time and went with his father. He hated my guts for some reason, but did show me the ticket (which was framed) and some awesome Kodachrome photos that he took at the game that day, which I told him were probably very valuable in themsleves re: the publishing rights. But he's a grouchy old bastard and will probably be buried with them. He's a mulitmillionaire and lives on Park Ave. in an "old money" building with doormen and such. The apartment is a pack-rat dump like that "Hoarders" show on tv.

Another cool thing is that my ex-GF grew up across the hall from Audrey Meadows (alice from the Honeymooners). GF had a few pics of her sitting on her lap as a kid as they were quite friendly with her family. She said her breath stunk like 1000 ashtrays all dumped out at once. Once Audrey Meadows bought her a teddy bear for Hannukah gift and she still has it with a signed card- is her autograph valuable? I might one day date her again, we did have lunch the other week in NYC at Corner Bistro.
