Default Real T202 on Ebay?

I am looking for opinions on the listing. I have bid $12 on it. At the risk of outing an auction: https://www.ebay.com/itm/361983645048

Items that concern me:

Registration excellent
Centering excellent
Corner wear inconsistent with wear
Ungraded
Cut very square

Any / all opinions are appreciated thank you.

John

Looks fake. First thing I thought was the colors are quite off. Then I looked at the centering. That pretty much sums it up. How many T202s have that centering? Guess it could be a good buy if it is good? The seller's return policy is reassuring so not too much risk....Good luck if you go for it. (*still looks off to me in the scan...)

Default not real

hi John, the print on the back looks too clear/crisp for the amount of wear it has.
on the other hand, he has a 30 day return on it with paypal; you can always send it back, no worries, as he states it is original.

Hi John,

There are very few reprints out there for T202 and most are Dovers with perforations and pretty easy to pick out. That being said there were a few of them that were reprinted that look better.

The sellers have others for sale including commons, I think his scanner is turned up pretty bright to give the cleaner white look.

Al this being said, I am leaning towards legit with caution. It might be a great chance to get a high profile card under value.

Good luck with it John, in the end you need to make the decision.

I'm also at "real, with caution." They are also listing a bunch of T206s in similar condition, which also look mostly good to me under magnification -- you get the dot matrix of the image, and the brown lettering in the T206s. I don't like how sharp the corners are, and the way the staining and cracking is showing up. I also don't like the black borders around the image in the T206. There are plenty of warning signs here, but I would say I'm at about 75% sure.

Looks like the seller took all of the tobacco down - T202s and T206s. I assume he believes them to be fake?
