Default Another grading question

Something I was wondering and would like others opinions:

Would you prefer a card thats graded "A" Authentic OR POOR 1

Let also take this into account that Authentic Looks nicer.

I would prefer the nicer looking "A" card but would love to hear what you guys think.

I'd want a grade, even if it's a 1

I'll take a nice looking "A" over a mangled 1 every time....but that's just me. Most 1's are just so ugly. And the value seems to be about the same.

Nice link ty

Here is a perfect example: Lets say the prices of the cards were the same. (although its an extreme example)

Well the Cycle back introduces a new thing when it comes to the t205 Matty, but if I were to pretend that they were both Piedmont backs it is still the 1 (Especially since the A has a crease and is obviously altered) assuming the same price. If I had no chance at a card other than an A, then I would consider it.

I'd rather have the nicer "A" than the falling apart '1'. Just my two cents.

When it comes to A's and 1's, you're really just picking your poison when it comes to damage...I think to an extent, the choice really comes down to whether you want your beaters to be mistreated or trimmed.. If I had to choose, without cost being a factor, I'd take the nice looking trimmed card any day over an absolute beater... However, I'm not one to be picky, trimmed or beat to hell, if the price is right, I'm happy..

Trimmed, colored, re-backed or otherwise altered in any way is a deal breaker for me. PSA 1 all day every day.

Attractive looking "A" over mangled "1" for me...all other things being equal.

And I would only consider purchasing either if there was no way I could afford a nicer copy.

I'll take authentic depending upon the reason it was called authentic.

I'd go for eye appeal, so if an authentic card looks nicer, I'd take it over the 1. However, if they were roughly equal (e.g., slightly trimmed Authentic vs pinhole 1), I'd pick the number grade.
