Default Kalamazoo Bats Team Cards

This may be lost information only known to the long dead executives at Gross and Company. Why only six teams of the sixteen who played in 1887 are in the set? I can see that being a Phillie company why the 2 teams there were included, but why not either New York team? Why Detroit, but no Chicago? I have two of the teams; athletics and boston. They are so rare you hardly see them up for auction. I like the REA offerings this year and wonder how often the chance to get Baltimore or Detroit will come up again. Prices seem already on the high side even before catalogs hit.

Love these 1880's cards especially the lesser available yum yum, four base hits and G&B. Looking forward to new book on the 1880's American Association by Ed Alchorn who wrote the Hoss Radbourn book a couple of years ago.

Default What Book?

What is the title of the book on the 1880s American Association that Edward Alchorn is writing and who is publishing it?

Default Alchorn

His radbourn book was excellent. The only problem was the price if his n172 cards jumped before I could get one.
