I was very happy to get this in the mail today. I will try to post some better pics soon. The photo itself measures 13.5" x 10.5" . I think it has a tiny trim at the bottom but it's hard to tell..it's extremely clear and clean except for the stain on the front at the bottom. I haven't tried to take it out of the frame yet. These scans don't do it justice. best regards

Very...Very nice Leon. Great pickup. I watched that one with anticipation and watched it shoot right out of my price range at the very end.

I saw this one too...really wanted it. In terms of value, did it reach full potential or is it worth much more than the end price?

I saw it the first time it was on ebay and then it was gone within the first day and I though "crap someone stole that one". She relisted it though right away. I think it would bring more in an REA/Mastro auction that what Leon got it for.

All I really want to say is my snipe was mulitples of the winning bid. It did shoot up nicely at the end....I was just waiting to see where it landed. If someone else won it they would have deserved it .....

Hey Bryan,
It went for about quite a bit after shipping/insurance. I believe the seller thought it was worth a few hundred dollars...regards

The seller started it out at $200 IIRC...I threw my bid in right away so she would be less inclined to end it early. The first time she listed it she had absoulutely no clue what she had.

Leon, that is an amazing photo. Great pickup.

Please share scans when you/if you bust it out of the frame. I am not that familiar with Chickering photos, but do you expect this to be a cabinet photo with gold guilding on the edges or something else?

Dan, what does IIRC mean?

KJ

Here is the stepchild to your pick up. Yours displays much nicer as mine is easier to store. Great pick up.. The item should be hung and enjoyed for many years to come.

Since I'm not a regular poster, I don't want to speak out of place, but I'm very curious to know more about this fantastic piece. Forum Moderator, any more info/pics? Have you liberated it from the frame?

Here's a scan. I don't have a digital camera but will probably get one soon.....and with the help of a board member friend the players are:

Only Stivetts and Ganzel are known in the back row..(anyone else know?)

Middle row (right to left) - Herman Long, Kid Nichols, Marty Bergen (I think), Frank Selee, Hugh Duffy, Fred Tenney, Billy Hamilton

Bottom row (right to left) - Jimmy Collins, Chick Stahl, Bobby Lowe

(the picture is much more clear in person):

Leon- did you notice that both the writing at the bottom of the photo and the "B" on their uniforms are backwards. Was the negative reversed?

I should have said it but didn't even notice...the picture is correct but I had to reverse it to get it to be facing the correct once I scanned it sideways...I will try to make a better scan...and one that makes sense when looking at it ...

Directly behind Hugh Duffy in the back row is Fred Klobedanz.

Behind Tenney and next to Klobedanz is Ted "Parson" Lewis.

Congrats on scoring such an incredible photo. Worth every penny you spent IMO.

Much better...a truly gorgeous photo indeed!

What happened to the corrected photo- it just disappeared?
